The BBC has confirmed it is moving its Plymouth base to new, state-of-the-art premises at Sutton Harbour, putting it at the heart of the city's maritime heritage.
BBC South West will lease part of a 65,000sq ft office block being built overlooking the picturesque harbour.
The new building is being developed by Plymouth-based regeneration and transport firm the Sutton Harbour Group.
BBC South West's operations include Spotlight and BBC Radio Devon.
Building work on the new development is due to start in 2008, and it is expected that the BBC will move from Broadcasting House in Seymour Road into its new premises and begin broadcasting in late 2010.
The new offices will be equipped with the latest technology for digital broadcasting.
